Detail Too Early

So for starters I have about 5 different projects going on atm. Currently I started a forest image but put that on hold because in 8 days something special to celebrate with the bf is coming up. I wanted to draw him the characters from his favorite video game "ICO."

Anyway, drawing this image of the ICO character I also learned that getting involved in too much detail so early on is a bad thing. I have a tendancy to get so excited sometimes I don't take proper steps needed to fully create an image. My weakness is the love for drawing people and characters so naturally when doing an image the first thing I want to start working on is the character.

I need to remind myself to take my time and think out the entire image.
